One of my favorite parts of the year is PFW and NYFW. There’;s so much inspiration to pull from! Whether it’;s new streetwear trends or eclectic designs on the runway, I can’;t help but fall in love with beauty and fashion all over again. So now with the runways coming to a close, I thought I’;d share with you five fall trends from?this season.

BLUSH RE-AWAKENING

While the dewy, wet look has definitely made it’;s mark the past year, blush has replaced the ever-so-popular highlighting powder, mostly due to it’;s ability to give you that “;awake”; look in just under twenty seconds.?By applying blush to the apples of your cheeksmost popular housewarming gifts, sweeping upwards into your temples and just lightly on the tip of your chin, you can confidently head into work Monday morning even after that rager-of-a-weekend you had (aka indulging on vegan sweets and ice cream while watching Netflix).

OVERSIZED SUITS

I have always had a love relationship for the androgynous look. ?The added size and extra drapes on a suit exude a modern yet?sophisticated?feminine silhouette. ?This style was prominent both off and on the runway, making heads turn towards both models and celebrities alike. This trend definitely strays from YSL’;s fit and structured suit silhouette (which will always be a timeless classic), but I can’;t say it isn’;t flattering. It definitely gives a gal room to breathe.

MORE MAGENTA

Not so long ago, my all so favorite blush pink swept?the runways at Milan Fashion Week. ?It’;s louder,?vibrant?and?brighter cousin –; Magenta came sweeping in this season.??A lot of designers showed their love for this new hue?by dressing their models in head-to-toe magenta, and while I personally can’;t see myself wearing a Magenta jumpsuit out to the mall, I can envision a few outfits where magenta is the centerpiece. It’;s all about transitioning the looks from the runway into your closet in a way that will fit your personal, unique style.

THE LOB THAT WENT GLOBAL

Short hair has been the rage for a few years now, but it’;s back and messier?this fall season! The shaggy lob is taking over with it’;s easy-to-style ability and has that?“;model-off-duty”; feel?. Fashionistas from all over are getting their?lob-cuts and and they’;re?rocking the gorgeous, rocker-chic look. I hope this trend is here to stay because it’;s so flattering on everyone!

STATEMENT, STRUCTURED EARRINGS

While most of us are still seeing chokers all over our Instagram feeds, a new trend is making way. Statement earrings are making a reappearance, like most trends do (it’;s all cyclical) but this time with a new structure—literally. Dangling, statement earrings with archetict-like characteristics were seen all over the runway during PFW. These earrings aren’;t your typical, chandelier, be-jeweled pieces from the past. This time they’;re bold, loud, and make the clothing?seem secondhand in the overall look. It’;ll be interesting to see how this trend plays out in commercial stores.

Going green is not just about being eco-conscious, or at least it doesn't have to be. In fact, there are numerous ways to incorporate the colour green into your home's décor to create a lively and inviting space that makes it a pleasure to come home every night. Perhaps the best way to 'go green' is to merge the indoors with the outdoors and a great way to do this is with plants. Plants and flowers signify growth, health and bring beauty into an otherwise bland and lifeless space.

If you have followed me for a while, you know I have twin girls and that their room is…well…super girly. You can check out their “big girl” room reveal here. But those that know me well know that I have a LOVE for boy room decor. I love the bold color palettes that lend themselves naturally to masculinity–orange and navy, lime green and navy, brown and light blue, red and mustard yellow, etc. So when my good friend Raquel asked me to help her design her adorable son's “big boy” room, I was thrilled to oblige! I initially put together two mood boards for her, and we both favored one of the boards, so we went with it, making some tweaks as we went along.

Moroccan entrance halls are stunning and if you really love this global style, you will want to show it off from the moment you enter your home. Besides, a bare entrance hall will not help the rest of your décor – make it welcoming and make a lasting impression with touches of Morocco's unique style.
