The fall season is always a time when my creative energy reaches a peak —； maybe it’；s all the beautiful color and texture Mother Nature shows us!
I purchased this adorable “；Spidey Table Topper”； pattern by Silk Road Creations at a local quilt shop and decided this would be the perfect weekend project —； it took less than a half day to complete! The project can be constructed on nearly any sewing machine； all you need is a straight stitch， basic zigzag， and a walking foot (or BERNINA 8 Series Dual Feed).floral pillow cases
The quilt-as-you-go technique made quick work of strips of scrap fabric in blackpersonalized housewarming gifts， gray， and assorted Halloween prints. One fat quarter is all that’；s needed for the backing.
Instead of cotton， I used crushed panne velour fabric in black for the legs. (Hint： I used a size 11 Stretch needle， the Super-Stretch stitch， and lowered the presser foot pressure to 35 for this type of knit.)
The spider was completed with “；slime green”； fabric and black buttons for the eyes.
This is a project that I did for the Riley Blake Design Team blog. I thought I’d post it here in case you missed it. Make sure you check out their blog they have lots of fantastic sewing tutorials!
